Couples and Family Therapy

These services are provided by Jen Fogle, LAC

Couples Therapy

When working with couples Jen works to help the couple identify and break patterns of unhealthy behavior. She provides a space for both partners to be heard and understood while they process the areas of distress that have presented themselves in the relationship. Many times these issues stem from unhealthy communication patterns, previous trauma from before the relationship began, mood disorders, or insecure attachment styles. Through a variety of modalities, they address these issues and work towards a mutually satisfying relationship that allows both partners to feel seen, known, and loved. Some of the issues that Jen may focus on are: Premarital counseling, communication issues, stage of life transitions, infidelity, issues surrounding sex and intimacy, and working with blended families.

Family Therapy

As a family therapist, Jen believes it is important to approach families from both a systems perspective and from an individual perspective in order to help identify not only the issues, but the root causes of the issues. Through an attachment model, she is able to provide families with a place where each individual is listened to and supported as they seek to heal and grow together.

In family sessions, Jen may use a variety of models to help engage the entire family system including adults, adolescents, children, and adult children. They work on developing healthy attachments within each person as well as within in the family system. Doing so will likely help each member of the family to be seen, heard, and known within the family system. Some of the issues that may be addressed are parenting styles, adoption, phase of life and life transitions, communication, divorce/separation, in-law relationships, boundaries, and blended families.
