At Be Balanced Counseling we want to help you embrace your personal story and live your life in a way that is fulfilling and connected to your personal values. My name is Amy Burnside. I am the owner of Be Balanced Counseling. I provide individual and group therapy to clients as well as serve as a clinical supervisor to other therapists completing their residency training.  We have two locations, Ahwatukee/Tempe (11011 S. 48th St, Suite 205, Phoenix, AZ 85044) and Gilbert (2730 S. Elizabeth Shrader is our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Beth supports teens and adults seeking medical management services. Currently, Beth is only seeing client virtually and will be seeing clients in person soon at our Ahwatukee/Tempe location. To read more about Beth click on the About Us page.

Jennifer Fogle works with teens, adults, couples, and families. She sees clients at the Gilbert office and virtually, upon request. To read more about Jen click on the About Us page.

Lydia Chesley provides individual and group therapy to clients and has specialty training in addiction and peri-natal mood disorders. She works at the Ahwatukee/Tempe office as well as virtually, upon request. To read more about Lydia click on the About Us page.

We are trained in a variety of evidenced based therapy modalities including EMDR Therapy, IFS, Somatic, DBT, CBT, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness based therapy. Please reference the other pages on our website for more details on these powerful healing therapies.

We believe that through increased awareness and acceptance of who you are we can identify behavioral or emotional patterns that are keeping you stuck. We each have down to earth and compassionate styles and will help you identify your innate strengths.  

We welcome clients of any race or gender. If you are looking for a therapist who will balance a compassionate approach with helping you to take a hard look at where your challenges are and back it up with advanced, evidenced based, training then let's talk. Together we'll look at your symptoms and figure out their roots and work to help you feel better for the long run.

Amy and Lydia also teach DBT Skills groups that are "Life Skills" that assist in managing emotions, improving communication, and general coping skills (Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Distress Tolerance Skills). Please click the DBT tab for more information.
